I lied about the Scotland Pics, but here's a Rodeo...
Not too thrilled with these, but I had to get them finished for Clear Channel. They could use a lot more work. Probably one of the more challenging light situations I've dealt with.

Scotland photos coming soon.
So i just got the data recovered from my late laptop's hard drive, including all the photos I took in Scotland last year for my mother's wedding. Ironically, that marriage is already over... I'm still toying with all the creative ways I can blot out this guy's mug in all the pictures from Edinburgh. If you have ideas, please send them on to me.
But anyways, I had a great time in Glasgow especially. Design nerds should definitely make a point of visiting- it's a city full of creative energy, and I really did not want to leave. Ever. I still dream of moving there.
But it rains all the time, and it was raining most of the time I was there, and I didn't have my good lens at that point, so the photos were a little lackluster. The one on my homepage now I took on Argyle street, and it's looking across the street at the Radisson SAS, which is a brand new and quite brilliant building. I stopped in and asked about the architects, but that information is on a long-lost piece of paper. I'm sure google will come through when I get a minute to think about it. In the mean time, stay tuned because there were a handful of images worth taking the time to process and post here.
I got to see The Lighthouse, one of the most impressive museums I've seen, and by far the best view in the city. I also got to see Greenland on that trip.

Greenland is Not Green
I flew over Greenland the other day, and look folks it's just not green. They've been lying to us in order to get more tourists. Here's a picture:

A couple quotes from Dave Eggers' You Shall Know Our Velocity:
There was one from Mongolia to Saskatchewan. But nothing from Greenland to Rwanda. We were bent. Why wouldn't there be a flight from Greenland to Rwanda?
"Total population is 53,000."
"Ice covers eighty-five percent of the landmass."
"They're desperate for tourists. They get about 8,000 a year, but they're shooting for 60,000."

Some photos...
Finally getting around to some of the photography I've been working on lately. Let me know what you think. With many thanks to Ross Greutzemacher my photo assistant on most of these.

Architecture of Density Exhibit
I really wanted to buy one of these Michael Wolf prints, but since I can't I'm going to pass this link on to you: http://www.photomichaelwolf.com/intro/index.html.
Wolf's large color photographs show the subtle variations within the repetitions of modernist housing in Hong Kong. Are these super-blocs dehumanizing? The large scale presents enough detail to show effects of human life and weather on these buildings, perhaps arguing something else entirely. Is this the future of humanity?
All of it- the color, the repetition, the density itself- comes from the structure of the human mind. Perhaps this is the real Garden of Eden. Well, okay, I'm not ready to go that far. But damn one of these prints would look good hanging in on the wall of a loft, perhaps with a couple Barcelona chairs for viewing... Anybody have a spare $5k?

Online Photographs and Historical Images
Just found this great online resource for historical maps, photographs, and art. The New York Public Library has a great online collection. Visit: http://www.nypl.org/digital/
Another resource that's somewhat more frustrating to use but has great classic photographs in file sizes large enough for print: The Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Collection
